"An object at rest tends to stay at rest …
An object in motion tends to stay in motion."
-- Sir Isaac Newton

Week # 1: Exercise/Diet

The human body is designed for movement. In today's computer-oriented society, however, our bodies rarely get the activity we need to meet the physical requirements necessary for our optimal well-being. This lack of action can create a stagnation that not only affects the body's vitality, but drains mental and emotional energies as well. If a body at rest tends to stay at rest, everything else stays still too.

With the understanding that movement is fundamental to positive growth, the Training Program begins with exercise. By improving physical health, the momentum forward begins -- and all areas of life quickly follow.

In Week # 1 of the Training Program you will:

  • Boost your mood, self-confidence and health with an overall fitness and diet plan that works based on your individual schedule and needs.

  • Enhance your physical performance with an exercise program we create together that addresses your specific body chemistry and current level of activity (from none at all to competition levels).

  • Maximize your workouts with personal training techniques developed to achieve the greatest results for your efforts.

  • See how your dietary choices affect your physical, mental and emotional well-being, and develop a diet specific to you that can improve each of these areas.

Think exercise is just about looking good? Think again.

According to the American Psychological Association:

  • Exercise was a beneficial antidepressant both immediately and over the long term.

  • The greater the length of the exercise program and the larger the total number of exercise sessions, the greater the decrease in depression with exercise.

  • Regular exercise is more effective than placebo pills in reducing symptoms of anxiety in patients with panic disorder.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention:

  • Exercise reduces the risk of dying prematurely.

  • Exercise reduces the risk of dying from heart disease, developing diabetes, and developing high blood pressure.

  • Exercise reduces the risk for developing colon cancer.

  • Exercise helps build and maintain healthy bones, muscles and joints.
